1.19.23 - Get To Know Your Customer Day
We all know that without customers we have no business. So why not jot down in a calendar this day for the rest of the year and make it an aim to get to know our customers. But how do we do it!? How do you do it!?
One way that I want to do this is by asking for their feedback by way of a review. That helps me see what stood out to them and helps me to continue to implement it when interacting with customers. For instance, if they say "they were prompt", "they replied fast", "they were personable", "they were patient"... all this is feedback that we need to keep showing to our customers. Even poor feedback can be used to make us better and we therefore acknowledge our customers by continuing to implement the feedback or toss it out if it's a negative one.
One other suggestion that I got from Bill Soroka in his book The Notary Business Challenge is to write letters to our customers. When I go to my customers' house, they are normally welcoming, and we converse. I remember them and I try to be present because each notarization there is a story. With Bill's tip to write letters, I'm going to use these dates to remember to write a customer a letter simply saying I thought of them, hope all is well from when I last saw them, and to feel free to keep in touch. Sign it with my name and number. Of course, I'll remind them I was the notary, but nothing business related. This tip from Bill really works on getting to know your customer.
