Protect your garden by trimming your trees and shrubs and adding mulch, schedule a chimney inspection to ensure safe and efficient use of your fireplace or wood-burning stove, and start storing patio furniture before the weather turns. Last Friday, my seller closed on her late mother’s home, and this was definitely a special transaction for me. She and I first connected years ago, and we’ve stayed in touch through Facebook, watching each other’s families grow and keeping up with all the different seasons of life. When it came time to sell her mom’s house, she reached out to me, and I was truly honored that she trusted me to help her through it. Selling a property like this is so much more than a real estate transaction, and being able to market the home, get it sold and guide her through the process meant a lot to me. I’ve been blessed with so many special closings this year, but there’s just something different about representing someone when the connection goes back years.
