I have developed a reputation as a specialist in the areas of divorce and family law, vigorously representing the needs of my clients. My philosophy in family law cases is to represent my clients' best interests while working towards an amicable resolution to each case. I recognize that it is emotionally draining and stressful to go through a divorce or custody issue, therefore I aim to work toget

her with the opposing attorney to resolve the case efficiently and with the least amount of animosity as possible. I have practiced family law for over 25 years, serving the counties of Wayne, Oakland, Livingston, Macomb, Lenawee, Washtenaw and Monroe. I also served as an Assistant City Attorney in the city of Westland for over six years.

As you can see I am not good at posting but a recent issue is prompting me to do so. Over the past few weeks I have received several negative Google reviews. 99% are not from actual clients but under what I can only assume are false names. I assume the former spouse of some client is unhappy with me and therefore creating accounts with false names just to post these reviews. I can kind of understand that, but false reviews from former clients who seemed to be very happy with my representation are very confusing. I was told by my marketing rep to ask clients to post Google reviews to counter those negative ones and I did ask one to, but I have since decided that would be disingenuous. Instead I will respond to each one in a respectful manner.

I practice family law exclusively and obviously those cases are fraught with emotion. I pride myself on doing my absolute best for every client I have but sometimes clients just aren't happy with the representation and that's okay. I welcome constructive criticism. And I understand that the former spouse of a client may not be happy with the result and that's okay too. What I don't welcome is someone making false allegations against me especially when I can't really respond. I do take solace in the fact that the majority of my clients come to me by way of referrals from former clients, other attorneys, judges and even the former spouses of people I have represented, so these false Google reviews probably won't really affect my business but they do upset me just the same. I guess I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening!

Great night hosting the Livonia Bar Association's Meet the Candidates Night last night. It was an honor having Brian Morrow, Melissa Cox, Judge Wanda Evans, Robert Ficano, Regina Thomas and Thomas Hathaway tell us all a little bit about themselves and why we should vote for them. I hope that everyone who came out to hear them feels like they are now better able to make an informed decision when voting for the 4 open seats on the Wayne County Circuit Court bench. A huge thank you to the candidates and to everyone who came out to meet them!

It's such a pleasure when I have cases with attorneys and judges who conduct themselves as professionals and who feel the same way as I do about settling a case without all of the drama and nastiness. Today I had three of those attorneys, and three of those judges in Wayne County. What a refreshing morning it was.
And while I'm in front of these judges on a weekly basis, I know that the general public is not. That's why I encourage you to attend the Livonia Bar Association's Meet Your Judicial Candidates Night next Tuesday, October 25th. It is being held at the Livonia Civic Center Library. The doors open at 6:30 with the program starting at 7pm. We will have 7 of the 8 judges who are running for the 4 available seats present for the event. Please come out to listen to and meet them. You'll even have an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the program. I look forward to seeing you all there!

All done with motion day in Oakland County by 9:13! Might be a record. On the way to Wayne County Friend of Court. Fingers crossed I have at least close to the same result.
