I thought this was really cool.

I have some borrowers that were referred to me that needed to consolidate some debt. Their debt consisted of the normal items that a family aquires over time, auto loans, credit cards ect. So far a normal loan.

Well after talking with them, they also wanted to do something about their ever increasing PG&E electricity costs..... So what did we do?

We not only paid off their auto and credit card debt we PERMANENTLY paid off their electricity bill by installing solar. What once was an electric bill of $320.00 is now $7.00.

They paid off the bills and financed the cost of the project through their refincance without raising their monthly mortage payment.

Also, over time their electric bill would have continued to climb over the next ten years (probably doubling in 10 years), but now stays at the $7/month which saves them even more money going forward.
