Strong storms are moving through the New Orleans metro area this afternoon, bringing heavy rain, wind, lightning, and reports of hail.

If hail has moved through your neighborhood, once it is safe to go outside, take a few minutes to check your property for signs of damage.

Look for:

* Dents or damage to vehicles
* Missing, cracked, or damaged shingles
* Damage to gutters, siding, windows, or outdoor equipment
* Fallen limbs or other storm-related damage

Take photos and videos of anything you find before making temporary repairs or cleaning up. Documentation can be important if you need to file an insurance claim.

Most importantly, stay indoors while severe weather is in your area and avoid going outside to inspect damage until conditions have passed.

Today's inspection featured roof fasteners that allegedly "backed out because of floodwaters."
Small problem: they're about 30 feet above the floodwaters. 😂

If your attorney isn't willing to climb the roof and see the evidence with their own eyes, you may have hired the wrong team.
