Things to keep in mind for the course:

1. The fee is $20 and goes directly to the course provider

2. The information you use for the class is not the same info I use to fill out your paperwork. I tell you this b/c anything you tell them can just be guesses or estimates

3. There is chat session at the end. Just give generic answers to get through it (YES, NO, OK, ETC).

The class is a hoop and treat is as such.

IF YOU OWN A HOME AND GET A TAX REFUND:

If you are considering filing a BK case then the absolute best time to file is right after you get a refund in the start of the year. Here is why:

1. You can spend this years refund so it is not an asset of your BK

2. We are too early in the year for next years refund to be a part (asset) of your BK

This is our dual monitor set up for completing paperwork. I hate packets (as I'm sure everyone does). Every single BK attorney in town will give you a 50 to 60 page packet to fill out.

I saw this ad show up on my FB ad feed. This biggest problem with this ad is that it conveys an assumption that you lose your home when you file for BK. Nothing could be further from the truth. In BK you get exemptions (property you keep). Texas has an unlimited homestead exemption. So you will not lose your home when filing for BK.

It also misleading as it claims to have "helped" two million Texans. There are only 30 million or so Texans. I seriously doubt this company has helped 10% of the state.

I have many people who start out with these programs and end up calling me. I ask that you commit yourself to understanding all options before committing.

Our firm (as all BK firms in the US) are designated to be debt relief agencies. Our ethical responsibility under the BK code to is to explain all available options.

A lot of good points here for people to consider! I tell people all the time that filing a Bankruptcy case is business decision and to not think of it from an emotional point of view (I know that is sometimes difficult).
