What is Custom Court Mapping and how can it benefit my practice?

EZ Venue offers an Enterprise Level with custom court mapping for clients that process larger quantities of addresses and need the ability to customize the venues returned for their cases. EZ Venue staff can provide custom venue mapping that will exclude certain courts, indicate to file up to a county or district court in lieu of a justice court or other lower level court, or possibly a client just doesn’t care to appear in front of a particular judge for various reasons. We also have the capability to customize the venue return file to include client provided court codes that correspond with the client’s database.

What is Geocoding and why is it important?

Geocoding is the technology that makes EZ Venue function behind the scenes, but what exactly is geocoding? According to ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute), “Geocoding is the process of transforming a description of a location – such as a pair of coordinates, an address, or a name of a place – to a location on the earth’s surface.” Regarding venue selection, our geocoding process converts the address of the suit to be filed into a latitude and longitudinal coordinate point. This reference point (address) is then processed through the system to determine which venue boundary the address falls within. With our single address search venue tool, the software provides a visible map with a pin indicating the location of the geocoded or processed address. Our batch processing system doesn’t produce a visible map but has the capabilities to process and produce venue returns for thousands of addresses in an expedited manner. Besides being able to handle mass quantities of addresses, our batch processing system has the capability of processing geocode coordinate points directly from a client provided file.
