PRESIDENTIAL DISASTER DECLARATION INCLUDES COLLIN, DENTON COUNTIES

(February 22, 2021) A Presidential Disaster Declaration includes Collin and Denton counties. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may provide money to assist with losses not covered by insurance; however, there are limits as to what may be covered. Residents must apply online for FEMA assistance at DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585.

Assistance may include:

Temporary Housing includes rental assistance or reimbursement for hotel costs if you were unable to live in your home;
Repair or replacement of owner-occupied homes that serve as primary residence;
Uninsured or under-insured disaster-caused expenses and serious needs, which could include replacement of personal property and vehicles, funds for moving and storage, or other miscellaneous items.
Follow this link for information about Texas' voluntary Self Reporting Damage Survey*.

*Completing the voluntary survey is not a substitute for reporting damage to FEMA (noted above), an insurance agency, and does not guarantee disaster relief assistance.
