Ma*****na is legal in Maryland.

But if you’re going through a divorce or custody case, here’s something important to understand:

👉 Legal doesn’t always mean irrelevant.

In custody cases, courts are focused on one thing above all else:
what is in the best interests of the child.

That means ma*****na use can still come up; especially if there are concerns about:

Parenting judgment
Supervision and safety
Consistency in routines
Conflict between parents

In many situations, occasional and responsible use may not be a major issue. But when it starts to affect parenting or becomes a point of dispute, it can matter.

I recently wrote a short article explaining how Maryland courts are looking at this issue and what parents should keep in mind.

If you’d like to read it or have questions about your own situation, reach out.

Wishing You a Meaningful Passover.

As families gather for Passover in 2026, we are reminded of the enduring themes of freedom, resilience, and renewal. The Seder table invites us not only to honor tradition, but also to reflect on the journeys, past and present, that shape our lives and our families.

At Baumohl Hamburg LLC, we have the privilege of working closely with individuals and families during times of transition. We see firsthand how strength, clarity, and compassion can help people move forward, even in challenging circumstances. Those same values are at the heart of Passover.

Whether you are celebrating with a full table of family or observing in your own way, we hope this holiday brings you a sense of peace, perspective, and connection. May it be a time of meaningful reflection, renewed hope, and new beginnings.

If this season of reflection brings questions about your own path forward, we’re always here as a resource; to listen, to guide, and to help you move ahead with confidence.

From our family to yours, we wish you a warm, thoughtful, and joyful Passover.

I’ve been thinking lately about how often people struggle quietly with things at home—long before anyone else knows something is wrong.

One thing I’ve learned after many years of practice is that information alone can sometimes be incredibly grounding.

Talking doesn’t mean deciding.
Asking questions doesn’t mean taking action.

Sometimes it just means understanding where you stand.
