The most common reason people hesitate to hire an attorney is the assumption that it immediately means high costs and drawn-out legal battles.

The reality? Good legal counsel is meant to prevent expensive problems, not create them.

Getting an attorney involved early often saves you far more time, money, and stress than trying to clean up a mistake later down the road

A five-star review is always appreciated. But what matters most is what happened before those five stars.

There was a client who needed answers. A problem that needed to be solved. And a team working to help them find the best path forward.

We’re grateful for every client who trusts Platt & Westby with the things that matter to them. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

The strongest position in any legal matter is the one that gets you where you want to be as efficiently as possible. Spending resources just to make things difficult for the opposing side rarely serves your bottom line.

Protect your interests first, second, and always.

One of the most surprising aspects of litigation?

⏰How slow everything moves.

From filing documents, to waiting on other parties, to deadlines, there are many aspects of the legal process that simply take time.

We always ensure our clients understand that a lengthy process does not equal a bad legal process, rather that we are completing every step with due diligence to reach the best outcome.

Did you know? ⬇️

Arizona is a community property state. This means that anything acquired throughout the course of a marriage is considered joint property, and is split evenly in the event of a divorce.

We often get clients hoping to hold onto more assets than they are legally able to, however there are always other alternatives we can take to help both parties.

Not automatically. Every case is different, and courts still evaluate the facts. However, under Arizona's new Alec and Lydia Act, judges must now directly address domestic violence allegations, make written findings, and place the highest priority on the safety and well-being of the child and the victim before making custody or parenting-time decisions. This represents a significant shift in how these cases are handled.

If a claim has been brought against you, it’s very important to act quickly!⏰

Though this may seem like a daunting task, the last thing you want to do is ignore civil case. By not responding, you run the risk of the other party filing a default judgement, rendering you guilty and responsible for all damages.

However, you may be able to settle a case outside of the courtroom, avoiding hefty legal fees. Reach out to a lawyer as soon as possible if you are facing claims against you!
