This cause is close to our hearts at Vocational Diagnostics, Inc. - our very own Director of Operations and Business Development, Shannon Rustad, bravely battled breast cancer and is now cancer-free.

Shannon's strength and resilience remind us why awareness, early detection, and support matter so deeply. This month, we stand with survivors, those in treatment, and the families impacted, while honoring the importance of continued research and education.

We encourage everyone to take time for preventive screenings and to support the fight against breast cancer in whatever way you can. Together, we can make a difference. 🩷

☕ Happy National Coffee Day! ☕

Let’s celebrate the small bean that fuels so many big ideas. Here are some fascinating coffee & caffeine facts to brighten your Monday:

· Coffee “beans” are actually seeds inside a fruit (a “cherry”) - usually two seeds per cherry.
· In the U.S., National Coffee Day is observed on September 29 (and this year it falls on a Monday, arguably the day it's needed the most).
· The first recorded coffee consumption (as a brewed beverage) is traced back to 15th-century Yemen, and coffee drinking grew from there into the world’s favorite morning ritual.
· Moderate caffeine intake (e.g. up to ~400 mg/day for most healthy adults) is considered safe and may even come with benefits like improved mental alertness, better endurance, and antioxidant support.
· But yes, too much caffeine can trigger side effects - anxiety, sleep disruption, and even withdrawal headaches when you abruptly stop.
· And a quirky bonus: lighter coffee roasts often retain more caffeine than dark roasts (because dark roasts lose more moisture during roasting).
