Administering anesthesia requires absolute precision, constant monitoring, and specialized expertise. When you undergo surgery, you place your life in the hands of your anesthesiologist.

Unfortunately, when protocols are ignored or monitoring is inadequate, the results can be catastrophic. Anesthesia errors can lead to severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen, strokes, or even anesthesia awareness, a terrifying condition where a patient wakes up during surgery but cannot move or speak.

These are not just accepted risks of surgery; they are often the result of preventable medical negligence.

At VSCP LAW, we have the resources and experience to investigate complex medical malpractice claims. We work to uncover exactly what happened in the operating room and hold negligent providers accountable.

Premises Liability - When a Serious Injury Happens on Someone Else's Property

When someone suffers a severe injury on another person's or business's property, the question of legal responsibility is rarely simple and it is rarely answered without experienced legal counsel.

Under Pennsylvania law, property owners have a legal duty to maintain reasonably safe conditions for anyone lawfully on their property. That duty applies to commercial businesses, landlords, venue operators, and more. When a property owner fails to address a known hazard, neglects the maintenance of a structure, or allows a dangerous condition to persist, and someone is severely harmed as a result, that owner may be held legally accountable.

Premises liability cases can involve a wide range of serious injuries: spinal cord damage, traumatic brain injuries, severe fractures, and other severe harm that permanently alters a person's life. These are not minor inconvenience claims. They are complex legal matters that require thorough investigation, expert testimony, and attorneys who understand how to build a case against property owners, management companies, and their insurers.

At VSCP LAW, our attorneys have handled significant premises liability cases throughout Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, including cases that have resulted in substantial recoveries for clients who suffered life-altering injuries on someone else's property. We have the resources, the medical experts, and the litigation experience to pursue these cases at the highest level.

If you or a loved one suffered a severe injury on someone else's property, the facts of what happened matter. Our team can help you evaluate those facts and understand whether you may have a legal claim worth pursuing.

There is no cost to speak with us and no obligation.

A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is one of the most devastating injuries a person can suffer. Unlike a broken bone, the damage from a brain injury is often invisible to the outside world, yet it can fundamentally change a person's life, career, and relationships.

At VSCP LAW, we understand that the true cost of a TBI goes far beyond the initial hospital visit. It involves ongoing cognitive therapy, lost earning capacity, and immense emotional strain on the family.

When a brain injury is caused by someone else's negligence, you need legal representation that understands how to prove the full extent of the harm. We work with top medical experts to build strong cases for our clients.

If you or a loved one has suffered a severe head injury, our team can help you understand your legal options.

We are proud to celebrate Amanda Jonas Lorentson and the students of the Diverse Mentoring Initiative, who were recognized this week by Speaker Joanna McClinton on the floor of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Amanda founded DMI to pair diverse first-year law students with leading plaintiffs’ firms throughout Pennsylvania, creating access, mentorship, and opportunity for students who have faced real barriers on their path to the legal profession.

Through her trial practice and her leadership of DMI, Amanda is helping build a plaintiffs’ bar that better reflects the communities it serves.

VSCP LAW is proud of Amanda and every DMI student helping bring this initiative to life.

If the other driver was working at the time of a crash, the questions may not stop at who was behind the wheel.

In some crashes, the situation may involve more than one person, company, insurance policy, or set of records. That is why work-related crashes can be more complicated to review.

A delivery route, rideshare trip, company vehicle, commercial truck, or work-related errand can affect what needs to be reviewed, including vehicle ownership, the purpose of the trip, employer involvement, and insurance coverage.

When a crash involves work-related driving, several questions may need to be reviewed:
• Who owned the vehicle?
• Was the driver working at the time?
• Was the driver making a delivery or transporting a passenger?
• Was an employer, company, contractor, or app involved?
• Were there multiple insurance policies that may need to be examined?
• What records may help show what the driver was doing at the time of the collision?
• Was the trip personal, work-related, or connected to a business purpose?

These details are not always clear immediately after a crash. The first insurance conversation may not answer every important question, and the information available at the scene may only tell part of the story.

If you were injured in a crash and have questions about what factors may need to be reviewed, contact VSCP LAW for a free consultation.
