Social Media Verdict

A Los Angeles jury held Meta and Google's YouTube liable in a landmark social media addiction trial yesterday, awarding the plaintiff $3M in compensatory damages. The decision could influence more than 1,600 similar lawsuits from more than 350 families and over 250 school districts.

The case centers on a now-20-year-old woman identified as KGM who began using social media as a child. KGM accused Meta and YouTube of “addictive design,” with notifications and recommendation features she says fostered a decline in her mental health, including body dysmorphia, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Now, after two weeks of deliberations, the jury found Meta and Google negligent in the design and operation of their platform. Meta is being held liable for 70% of the harm, with YouTube responsible for 30%.

Tariffs on our allies (essentially additional taxes on Americans) solely because these allies support Denmark and oppose the annexation of Greenland by President Trump. Exactly when did Greenland become a danger to the USA? How did it become such a danger? Maybe it has a great deal to do with Ronald Lauder (heir to Estee Lauder fortune) a long time friend of Donald Trump and his business interests in Greenland! Sad state of affairs in America.

The move escalates tensions between the U.S. and longtime allies that have been sending Trump a message that the territory of Denmark is not for sale.

proposed reuse of this iconic building will stabilize the area around City Hall. Greatproposed use that will retain the "Eagle" the "organ" and hopefully the light show at Christmas.

TF Cornerstone will keep some office and retail space while adding apartments above the former Macy's space.

I am left to wonder why modern science has not yet invented "Astro-leaves".that stay in their proper place all year long!
