Greetings. I know these times are scary and uncertain. We are all trying to adapt. It is in these times that we must access our preparedness for future uncertain times to insure we are ready and able to act. An example of how that is crucial is to look at what we are experiencing from our federal government...as preparedness was NOT in its focus prior to the influx and spread of this virus, and now we are paying that price for being unprepared.
As much as it is a grim and sobering prospect to consider, now would be a proper time to revisit your preparedness for, God forbid, a major tragedy or issue to arise in your family. As a precaution for such times, I urge you to think about whether you have, need, or need revise, your Will (which would ONLY come into action if you pass away), your Health Care Directive (or sometimes referred to as a Living Will, which would come into play - WHILE LIVING - should you require medical treatment and decisions, and you are unable to make those decisions on your own due to your condition. This is quite important in light of this current pandemic for the purpose of needed medical treatment and options), and your life insurance and other important documents.
These above items should be revisited...for you and your loved ones. You should make a list of what you have and where you keep the documents so they can be easily found. You should seriously consider having these documents drafted should you not have any of the above-mentioned.
Finally, please reach out to me with any questions on this or other considerations. I can provide you with guidance. I am working remotely and my office number and email is functioning 24/7. If you decide you need a Will or a Living Will, I can provide you with these documents for a very modest cost in these special and concerning times.
Stay safe, wash your hands as much as possible if you are exposed to outside surfaces and items, limit close contact with others, and keep yourself busy and entertained as much as possible. Peace, David
