We're still working our way back into the loop where technology has seemed to leave us in the dust. But, then who walks in to say hello and subscribe to both the Great Lakes Pilot and Grand Marais Pilot. The man who I sold property to 35 years ago and had listed and sold his home sometime back; the log home built with timber from his property and without the use of a single mechanical tool. So much for technology leaving one behind in the dust. Rex Platt, a salt of the earth man, at age 87. We talked about the 27 people who helped fall the trees, construct the home and mentioned the building inspector said he'd never seen a structure built so sound. 5 of those volunteers are still alive, and one loss was his wife a few years back. He is today with his significant other, Roberta! What a jewel of a human being and to see him again made our year!
