The Petersburg Borough Public Works Department is accepting sealed bids for several surplus items, including:

2000 CAT 950G wheel loader
Two utility truck canopies
OSHA-compliant trench shoring box
Pair of Double Coin REM-2 loader tires
2005 Ingersoll Rand RX-344H vibratory tamping rammer

Ordinance #2026-17: An Ordinance of the Assembly of the Petersburg Borough, Alaska, Establishing the Thomas Bay Service Area of the Borough, Providing for its Governance and Financing, and Authorizing Use of Local Improvement Districts Within the Service Area.

Ordinance #2026-18: An Ordinance Amending Chapters 4.13, 4.16, 4.20, 4.27, and 14.18 of the Former City of Petersburg Code to Account for Borough Formation

Tidal Network Notice of Appeal & Meeting of Board of Adjustment

Please take notice that the Central Council of the Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTHITA) has filed an appeal from the Platting Board’s July 14, 2026 failure to consider its Application for a Minor Subdivision relating to the following real property:
A portion of US Survey 1168.

The Petersburg Borough Assembly, acting as the Board of Adjustment, will meet on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., in the Assembly Chambers of the Municipal Building located at 12 S. Nordic Drive, for the purpose of hearing and considering the appeal.

The hearing is open to the public and written argument supporting or opposing the appeal will be accepted. No public testimony will be taken. Written arguments should be sent by email to: [email protected]; or mailed to: Borough Clerk, PO Box 329, Petersburg, AK 99833, and must be received by 4:30 pm on August 17, 2026 in order to be considered.

🚧 Haugen Drive Water Repair Notice

On Thursday, August 6, Public Works will conduct water repairs on Haugen Drive between Airport By-Pass Road and the Humane Association Dog Park, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until repairs are complete.

Please expect possible traffic delays and trucks in the roadway. The public is encouraged to use an alternate route.
