Last night's United Way of West Florida Battle of the Barristers Trivia Competition did not disappoint.

Our clerk team, 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩 (Meredith Jackson, James Miley, and Trevor Pugh), proved that even the occasional hallucination is no match for teamwork, earning a second place finish after being tied for first at halftime and navigating a few creative sanctions along the way. One of the evening's more memorable challenges required Trevor to answer a trivia question with a pen in his mouth.

Our attorney team, comprising Connor Burke, Sallie Neese, Andrew Spencer, and Yenny Wu, also turned in a strong performance, finishing fourth.

Most importantly, the event brought the legal community together in support of United Way of West Florida and the important work they do throughout our region.

Congratulations to the City of Pensacola - Government's 𝙌𝙪𝙞𝙯 𝙋𝙧𝙤 𝙌𝙪𝙤 team for taking home the Legal Eagles Trophy. It's been a few years since Clark Partington claimed bragging rights, but we're already looking ahead to next year's comeback.

𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗡 - We are proud to announce a complete trial victory on behalf of a regional grocer in a high-stakes dispute with its landlord concerning common area maintenance (CAM) obligations.

𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝘆, Clark Partington attorney and shareholder, served as lead counsel in the matter. Following a bench trial, the court ruled entirely in favor of our client, rejecting the landlord's claims and affirming the grocer's rights under the governing lease agreement. The decision secures a result that will have lasting significance for the business.

This outcome reflects the value of thorough preparation, strategic advocacy, and commitment to our client's objectives.

Another great moment in our yearlong 50th Anniversary celebration 🦞

Yesterday, our Grayton Beach office hosted a Seafood Boil with colleagues, clients, and friends of the firm. Marty, Brenda and their team from The Drifting Oyster delivered an incredible spread featuring a spicy crawfish and shrimp boil along with grilled oysters topped with garlic parmesan, bacon-jalapeño, and more.

We are grateful to celebrate 50 years alongside the people and local businesses that make the and Northwest Florida communities so special.

Please join us in welcoming 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻 to Clark Partington as a summer clerk.

A Pensacola native and rising 3L at the UF Levin College of Law, Meredith currently serves as a Managing Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy. She earned undergraduate degrees in Economics and Legal Studies from the University of West Florida and spent last summer as a federal judicial intern in the Northern District of Florida.

Meredith brings a strong academic background and valuable hands-on experience to her position. Outside of law school, she enjoys beach days, long walks, and spending time with friends and family.

We are excited to have Meredith with us this summer in our Pensacola office and look forward to the contributions she will make to our team and clients.

Welcome back, 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗴𝗵!

We are excited to have Trevor back at Clark Partington for another summer with our team. After making a great impression during last year’s summer clerk program, Trevor returns as a rising 3L at Samford University Cumberland School of Law.

A Gulf Breeze native, Trevor stays active on campus through the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, the Florida Student Bar Association, and the First Generation Law Students organization. Outside of law school, he enjoys working out, golf, and cheering on LSU football.

We are looking forward to a great summer ahead and are glad Trevor chose to spend it with us once again.

From district champions to a Top 5 finish at the Florida Middle School Mock Trial Competition, the Gulf Breeze Middle School Mock Trial team continues to raise the bar.

This year, more than 120 middle schools competed across Florida, with only eight teams advancing to the state competition in Tampa. Gulf Breeze Middle School earned its place among the best after winning the local district tournament and finishing 5th in the state.

For the past two years, Clark Partington attorney 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 has volunteered alongside Gulf Breeze Middle School teachers, Michael Rodgerson (6th grade Science) and Christina Cornelius (6th grade Language Arts), to help coach and prepare these students for competition. As a Gulf Breeze Middle School alum, Jason’s continued involvement makes the experience especially meaningful, and he is incredibly proud of this group of kids.
