One of the biggest frustrations property owners face after a major loss is being told they cannot recover the full value of their claim until repairs are completed—even though the insurance company has not paid them enough money to allow those repairs. It's an awful Catch 22.

Thankfully, a recent decision from the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida recognizes the unfairness of that situation.

In this Legal Minute Video (www.twwlawfirm.com/legal-minute-videos), TWWHB partner, Phillip Warren, will talk about artificial intelligence and the cautions you need to take when going to artificial intelligence to ask questions about your legal rights. Just because someone is given a lot of recipes, that does not mean they know how to actually cook a meal. You have to be careful when seeking legal help through AI, especially when caselaw has come out recently that says discussions with artificial intelligence may not be protected like a conversation you have with an experienced, qualified attorney would.

At TWWHB our mission is to help you. If you have a question about your legal rights, contact one of our attorneys and ask your question. Unlike an online discussion with artificial intelligence, conversations between clients and their attorneys are protected under Florida law. Our attorneys would love to answer your questions.

QUESTION:

Is Asking AI a Legal Question Just Like Asking an Attorney?

ANSWER:

Artificial intelligence is everywhere. And it's a fantastic tool if you have the experience and knowledge to use it appropriately. It's no different than someone who has never cooked a day in their life, but that has been given endless recipes. Just because you can read a recipe doesn't mean you know how to actually cook a meal.

You have to be extremely careful with artificial intelligence.

And there's a danger because now caselaw is coming out that says that chats with artificial intelligence may not be protected in the way a discussion with a qualified, experienced attorney is protected. Before you rely on artificial intelligence to make an important decision about your legal rights, speak to an actual attorney. We would love to answer your questions.

Electric bicycles have become increasingly popular across Florida, offering an enjoyable and convenient way to travel, exercise, and explore our communities. Unfortunately, the serious accidents involving riders, pedestrians, and motorists that result from this growing popularity have only increased while the rules governing their safe use have decreased.

This isn't as uncommon as you think. We often receive reviews for our staff, as much as our attorneys, because they are truly the primary point of contact for clients. Our dedicated paralegals are here to listen, help, and guide you, and it thrills us to no end to get this kind of feedback. Most people assume riding an e-bike or e-scooter on the sidewalk is the safest option.

After all, staying away from cars seems like the obvious choice. But as electric bikes and scooters become faster and more common throughout Florida, many safety experts and lawmakers are warning that sidewalks may create an entirely different set of risks.

In fact, some of the most serious e-bike crashes don't happen in the street at all—they happen where pedestrians, vehicles, and riders unexpectedly intersect.

When a 21-year-old college student was killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 in Southwest Florida by a drunk driver, the family had questions. While criminal investigations operate under constitutional protections and evidentiary standards, civil investigations can often uncover more facts, identify responsible parties, and obtain compensation for those harmed by negligent conduct.

In May 2026, 21-year-old University of South Florida student Lauryn Akey sent her family a simple text message. She told them she loved them and that she was on her way home. According to news reports, those would be among her final words. Minutes later, Akey was killed in a wrong-way crash on...

AFTER A CAR ACCIDENT, PROTECT THE PROOF

In this Legal Minute Video (www.twwlawfirm.com/legal-minute-videos), TWWHB associate, Shelby Savage (/www.twwlawfirm.com/shelby-savage), will discuss the different types of evidence that can be gathered after a car accident to prove certain necessary elements of your claim—for instance, who was at fault, how the injury occurred, etc.

Many people who are injured in a car accident are not aware of all the different types of evidence that are available and how to gather, preserve, and use it to help you protect your rights and recover from the accident. This is why hiring an experienced car accident attorney if you’ve been injured in a car crash. At TWWHB, we work hard and fast to gather evidence and “protect the proof.”

QUESTION:

After a car accident, how do you protect the proof?

ANSWER:

Here at TWWHB , we like to say, after the crash, “Protect the proof.” Now a lot of people understand that after an accident, you should go get checked out, right. You need to make sure you have any injuries documented, and also make sure that you understand the extent of your injuries, because sometimes they don’t show up for hours or days later.
But there’s another type of evidence that’s equally important. That evidence can be the photographic or video footage of the accident. Now sometimes this can be from witnesses that were around at the time. Sometimes it can be from dash cam footage, and sometimes it can be from the surveillance footage of businesses that were located around where the accident happened.

Again, getting that evidence can be really helpful for your claim. And not a lot of people realize that they can get that evidence. So, one thing you can do is to hire an attorney and they can send out preservation letters to ensure that you get the footage and that it’s preserved in case you can need it later on. Remember, if you’re in an accident, after the crash, protect the proof.
