The Oriole Beach Boat Ramp, 3169 Linden Avenue in Gulf Breeze, will be closed beginning Monday, August 24, for improvements to the ramp and parking area. Weather permitting, the boat ramp is expected to reopen by Saturday, February 20, 2027.

The entrance to the boat ramp from Linden Avenue/Shady Pine Drive will also be closed. Residents on Linden Avenue should plan to use Bay Street to Oriole Beach Road to Linden Avenue as a detour. Improvements will include the removal of the existing boat ramp, construction of a new concrete boat ramp, shoreline stabilization, stormwater management, parking lot improvements, landscaping, and signage.

We are so excited to celebrate the first week of school with you all!

🎒🚨 ATTENTION, GULF BREEZE: THE KIDS ARE GOING BACK. WE REPEAT… THE KIDS ARE GOING BACK. 😂

Parents, your summer sentence has officially come to an end. No more hearing “I’m bored,” no more mystery snacks disappearing from the pantry, and no more kids asking what’s for lunch 14 times before noon. 😅

But before everyone heads back to school, Gulf Breeze PD has a few reminders:

1. 🚗 SLOW DOWN in school zones.
2. 👀 Watch for kids walking, biking, and riding scooters.
3. 🚌 Give school buses plenty of space.
4.📵Put the phone down and pay attention.
5.💰School zone fines are DOUBLED. Your wallet does not need a back-to-school shopping trip of its own.

And remember… just because you’re running late for work doesn’t mean you need to qualify for the NASCAR School Zone Championship (This is not a real thing don’t try it) 🏎️

We’ll be out there making sure everyone gets to school safely even if it takes a few extra minutes.

Parents, enjoy that first morning of peace and quiet. You’ve earned it. ☕️

📚🎒 Back to School is Almost Here! 🎒📚

Next week, our students head back to the classroom, which means school zones will be back in effect.

🚸 Slow down, stay alert, and watch for children crossing streets, as well as kids riding their bikes and scooters to and from school.

⚠️ School zone speed limits will be strictly enforced. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in active school zones.

A few extra seconds could make all the difference. Help us keep our students, parents, and school staff safe as we kick off another great school year.

Drive safely. Slow down. Put the phone down.

We’re proud to announce that the Gulf Breeze Fire Department has been recognized for successfully completing the State of Florida’s 2026 annual training—a testament to the department’s commitment to public safety, professional excellence, and continued development. 🚒✅

Fire Chief Jim Custred and Fire Inspector Gabe Johnson proudly accepted the award on behalf of the department.
