Pembroke Rising Objectives
TO PROVIDE a voice and a network for residents of Pembroke who support its historical American values.

Pembroke Rising is a positive nonpartisan movement giving a voice and a network to Pembroke, MA residents who support historical American ideals and to families who value the future of their children. TO ENCOURAGE the support of candidates for elected boards and committees who value the American ideals of equal opportunity and equal protection under the law and who strive to understand the true an

d accurate history of our country and our town. TO RECALL Select Board members and other elected officials who support Left ideologies and any hate from the Left or the Right when their ideological sway interferes with prudence in town affairs. TO RAISE awareness of DEI/CRT issues through educational events and resources. TO PROTECT Pembroke schools from social justice movements that infringe upon their educational mission and to engage and support School Committee members and school administrators who share this concern. TO ASSIST and comfort Pembroke residents who are doxxed while exercising their First Amendment Rights. TO REVISE town bylaws that make it unjustly difficult for residents to recall elected officials who fail in their duties and responsibilities to the people who elected them. TO PROMOTE the idea that Pembroke is a safe haven for people who believe in the First Amendment to the Constitution and where people are allowed to freely speak their minds without fear of reprisal. TO INFORM voters of actions of Pembroke’s governing bodies that affect living costs, income, education, and social interaction.

This does not represent Pembroke, its interests, or our children. DEI is alive and well in our education establishment.

Newly elected Massachusetts Teachers Association Vice President Deb Gesualdo called the United States a “fascist oligarchy,” said “borders are fake,” and supported illegal teachers strikes in Massachusetts.

69% of Massachusetts residents believe that biological males should not play in female sports. The Massachusetts Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA)disagrees. On the basis of gender ideology they defend males playing against females, no matter the unfair advantage and the safety issues.

The School Committee was asked to support a letter to the MIAA asking for a review of this policy. The Committee declined, with Sue Bollinger supporting a letter and Dave Boyle absent, despite the pleas of Chrissy Nelson, whose daughter was denied a place in the top 8 by a male competitor, and despite the overwhelming support the large majority of our Commonwealth.

Relevant to this continuing conversation is Dr. Gad Saad’s new book, “SUICIDAL EMPATHY: DYING TO BE KIND,” published on May 12, and an immediate NYT #1 bestseller.

He critiques a maladaptively irrational altruism that has gripped our culture. As the publisher describes it, “This mind parasite hijacked the empathy module of our progressive elite, leading to a catastrophic miscalibration of moral priorities. The results are everywhere: from coddling violent criminals to protecting rapists to branding self-defense as toxic behavior.”

Here is a short interview with Saad on the Morning Wire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G18fIWzQ0ak&t=9s

Saad, a Canadian, is a scholar at the Declaration of Independence Center for the Study of American Freedom at the University of Mississippi. He is also Professor of Marketing at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada), and former holder of the Concordia University Research Chair in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences and Darwinian Consumption (2008-2018). In 2024-2025, he was a Visiting Professor and Global Ambassador at Northwood University and has previously held Visiting Associate Professorships at Cornell University, Dartmouth College, and the University of California–Irvine.

GK Chesterton–
"The trouble in too many of our modern schools is that the state, being controlled so specially by the few, allows cranks, and experiments to go straight to the school room when they have never passed through the parliament, the public house, the private house, the church, or the marketplace. Obviously, it ought to be the oldest things that are taught to the youngest people; the assured and experienced truths that are put first to the baby. But in a school today, the baby has to submit to a system that is younger than himself. The flopping infant of four actually has more experience, and has whether the world longer, than the dogma to which he is made to submit."

Terrific event last night with State Auditor speaking to about 75 concerned citizens in the community about transparency, accountability, and the importance of an informed public.

Her message was simple and powerful: “Knowledge is power, and power belongs to the people.”

Thank you to everyone who came out for a thoughtful and engaging discussion. Pembroke Rising is committed to creating a space for non-partisan community engagement — no politics, just information, education, and important conversations about issues that impact all of us.

Great discussion. Great turnout. Great community.

The State Auditor Diana DiZoglio, who will speak at a Pembroke Rising Open Forum on Tuesday, May 19, 6PM, at the Community Center, has launched a new ballot question to put State House under Public Records Law - "Petition for a Law to Improve Access to Public Records."

DiZiglio will explain what this expanded access to p***c records will add to the Audit

This is in addition to the 72% approval of the ballot question to audit the legislature two years ago, which continues to be stonewalled by the Governor, the Attorney General, and the Legislature.

State Auditor Diana DiZoglio has been fighting an uphill battle to audit the Massachusetts Legislature, and she’s got some House members rallying to her side.
