Fortunate to have given my second presentation at Fordham Law in one week- this Friday morning virtually with an amazing lawyer, co-panelist, friend and fellow alum, Edgar DeLeon, Esq., on private practice, a talk we’re grateful to have given over the past few years. This was after my in-person presentation on Monday on Woman in the Legal Profession. I’m truly thankful to Fordham Law for these invaluable opportunities and for allowing me to give back.

This year’s Fordham Law annual “Bride the Gap” weekend of virtual CLE panels, was the perfect way to complete all of my CLE credits in one focused, well-curated program. Engaging speakers on diverse areas of law, giving a very well rounded approach, and the perfect snowy/rainy weekend for a CLE “binge”. 🙏🏻⚖️

Feeling incredibly honored to have given a lecture last night at Fordham University School of Law first year orientation at the beautiful Lincoln Center campus. Returning to my alma mater to talk about “The Advancement of Inclusivity and Belonging for Women in the Legal Profession” was truly inspiring.

I am so proud to be a graduate of Fordham Law and the continued emphasis they place on ethics, diversity, and intentional training, which matters now more than ever in the legal profession.

What made the night even more special was reuniting with fellow alumni and having my son Maddox Elbert there with me. He was just accepted to Fordham as an undergraduate, and watching him experience the campus and students through this moment felt full circle. Maybe a future Fordham Lawyer in the making.💙⚖️

Wow—what an incredible night! I am so honored to receive the Power in Heels Award from the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and proclamations from our state and local legislators and the Village of Patchogue. 👠✨

Huge thanks to David Kennedy for the beautiful introduction, and to Mayor Ponteri, the Village Trustees, Chamber Executive Board, and the amazing committee—Linda Cody, Emily Alvarado, Michele Rizzo-Berg, and Laurie Belmonte—for putting together such a special event.

Having my dad, Dr. Tom Scheuring, come from the Bronx and my sons, Chase and Maddox, who I am so proud of, there to celebrate with me, made it unforgettable. ❤️

This is such a meaningful honor, not only as chairperson for Alive After Five, board member, professor, a woman, and an attorney running a busy practice in family and matrimonial law, but also as someone who believes deeply in lifting up other women. We must all continue to inspire, empower, and support one another!

Thinking back to 24 years ago today....

wondering whether my brother, an NYPD officer in lower Manhattan was a first responder, if my newlywed husband was on his way to the Courthouse downtown along with my many lawyer friends and colleagues, if my parents were in the city, and with all the phone lines down, could only pray while I watched smoke billowing out of the city from my home in the Bronx at that moment and for days after. Watching those buildings tumble before my eyes knowing thousands of souls were instantly being taken from us, and horrified at the prospect of bringing children into this world. I will always feel grateful and blessed my family was safe and will always pray for the souls lost, including many friends and colleagues.

I will never forget. ❤️

Today marks 12 years since I took the leap and opened the doors to my own law practice. What an amazing journey it’s been! I’m incredibly grateful for the clients who have trusted me, the colleagues who’ve supported me, and the relationships that have grown along the way.

Most of all, I’m thankful for the freedom this path has given me, not just professionally, but personally, while doing the work I love.

I am truly blessed and grateful and I can’t wait to see comes next. 🙏⚖️💼
