Our Story
Attorney Counts is a lawyer and founder of Counts Law Firm. He was born in Los Angeles to a mother of African-American ancestry, and a Persian father. He was raised in his grandparents home in View Park (Los Angeles). His maternal grandmother, a real estate agent/investor, group home owner/administrator, and registered nurse, instilled entrepreneurial values. His maternal grandfather, a college professor/chemist, achieved despite discrimination, and was his father-figure. His father was an architect in a family hotel business. He is the only child of his optimistic mother, who named "to believe". He paid for college and law school at Loyola through grants, workstudy, and student loans. To unite students for change, he was president of the Student Union, founder of the fraternity Brothers of Consciousness, and studied abroad in West Africa. He wrote for Loyola Law Review, won Moot Court, and clerked for the NAACP.
He was sworn in as a member of the State Bar of California in 2004 over 15 years ago. He founded Counts Law Firm PC in 2009 and has a full staff of research attorneys, paralegals, and assistants to provide high-end, full-service, legal representation to his clients. Counts Law Firm is based in Pasadena California, and represents individuals, families, and small businesses in contract negotiation, contract litigation, collections, debt negotiation, family law, and other matters throughout Los Angeles County and beyond.
