It has been a few weeks now since SCOTUS overturned the "Chevron Doctrine" which strikes a crippling blow against the power of federal agencies to make reasonable interpretations of federal legislation. With this June 2024 Loper Bright ruling SCOTUS expands its power at the expense of government agencies, despite their particular expertise in their respective fields, but with that it must expand its workload and make various technical decisions federal agencies have had to make since 1984. We still have no idea how that is going to realistically happen, but this will become an exponentially growing issue in public life.

For one, the ability of federal agencies like the EPA to set rules and enforce environmental protections now shrinks.
