USC is settling a class action lawsuit with graduate certificate holders to avoid further expenses, which now total almost $250,000.

Singian Law, along with co-counsel Stuart Alban Law, brought a class action lawsuit this past year on behalf of Plaintiff Brian Ralston against USC and the USC Alumni Association ("USCAA"), with claims including false advertising, among others, related to USC's Graduate Certificate programs. We are pleased to announce that we have reached a settlement of this class action with USC and the USCAA, who acted quickly to resolve this matter. The proposed settlement, subject to approval by the Court, will provide 1,631 Class Members with reinstated membership in the USCAA and access to the accompanying membership benefits, along with a $50 credit to the USC Bookstore. The proposed settlement also achieves the public benefit of corrective advertising, subject to Court approval.

The AA promised the former students privileges. Then, it took them away.
