Our law firm was originally formed in 1973 by five attorneys. One was a banker, another was the School Board Attorney, two were general practioners, and Les Burke was the Bay County Attorney. In 1984, the name "Burke and Blue" was adopted and the Firm limited its practice to representing the County and all facets of condominium development law. Soon after, Burke and Blue starting the process of bu

ilding a new law office building fronting on Massalina Bayou in beautiful downtown Panama City in the shadow of the Bay County Court House. The new office provided ample space for expansion and over the years the Firm has grown to 14 attorneys. Ultimately the Firm also established additional offices in Panama City Beach and Sandestin in order to better serve our clients across Florida’s Great Northwest. The Firm’s practice areas have also grown dramatically since the beginning, as a direct response to the needs of our clients. Burke Blue attorneys practice in a variety areas including Real Estate Law, Business Law, Estate Planning, Probate and Wealth Management, Civil Litigation and Appeals, Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Government, Environment and Land Use. From the beginning, the Firm adopted an inclusive management style that worked through consensus building, which involved all the attorneys in the decisions that operated and shaped the Firm. Except as required by the increased number of attorneys and offices, this style continues. Burke Blue has approximately 40 team members who all believe in exceeding the expectations of the Firm's many clients. The original five lawyers established a culture of collaboration, high integrity, and professionalism that has continued and evolved for almost four decades. 🌟 Rotary Member Spotlight: Matt Hutt

Matt Hutt is a Panama City native, respected local attorney, and a valued member of our Rotary family. A third-generation Bay Countian and Bay High School graduate, Matt’s roots in this community run deep, and his commitment to Panama City shows in both his professional work and service.

Matt is an attorney with Burke Blue where he brings years of experience, steady judgment, and a people-first approach to serving clients. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of the South and his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, and has been practicing law since 2009.

Beyond his legal career, Matt is committed to giving back through community leadership, including service on the Leadership Bay Steering Committee and support of local causes that strengthen Bay County and support children and families.

Family is central to Matt’s life. He and his wife, Cara Parell Hutt, were both born and raised in Panama City and are raising three children — a seventh-grade son, a fourth-grade son, and a first-grade daughter. Their children attend Holy Nativity, where the entire family also worships.

Outside of work and Rotary, Matt enjoys fishing, hunting, scuba diving, and coaching youth sports. When it’s time to enjoy a favorite local meal, his go-to spot is Ferrucci’s.

“Panama City is home in every sense of the word. Rotary gives me the chance to serve alongside people who truly care about our community and its future,” Matt shares.

We’re proud to have Matt as part of our Rotary Club and grateful for the leadership, integrity, and heart he brings to our organization and to Panama City.

Attorney Matt Hutt brings nearly 20 years of courtroom experience in civil litigation. Whether he’s helping clients through divorce, custody issues, contract disputes, property conflicts, or personal injury claims, Matt is known for his steady guidance, practical solutions, and deep legal knowledge.

A Bay County native, Matt began his legal career in Atlanta, where he spent more than a decade helping clients navigate bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and real estate litigation. This financial and property-based background gives him a unique advantage in cases involving complex assets or contested financial matters.

Outside the office, Matt serves on the boards of several community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Panama City, St. Andrews Bay Inn of Court, and the Bay County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Bay program. He is a passionate youth sports coach and loves spending time in the woods or on the water with his wife and three children.
