Explaining a storm claim is far easier when you can show your property's condition before and after the damage.

Take a little time before a hurricane hits to build a documentation folder. Include your current insurance policy, recent photos of every room and the roofline, receipts for improvements, prior inspection reports, inventory of household items, and emergency contact information. Photographs, serial numbers, and receipts, will help. Don't rely on your memory later.

I recently had the opportunity to volunteer at the Dallas Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child Processing Center. What a rewarding experience! It was energizing and the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit.

Operation Christmas Child sends gift-filled shoeboxes—packed with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and personal notes—to children around the world. Each box is an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with a child who may never have received a gift before. It’s amazing to see what happens behind the scenes, to see what each box contains, and to meet volunteers from all corners of the Country.

Processing volunteers are still needed! Go to https://www.occvolunteersignup.com to find a processing center near you. If you can't make it this year, plan a trip with family and friends next year. It is a joyful experience and a meaningful way to share Jesus' love with children around the world.
