Just weeks before leaving on a long-awaited vacation, Michelle and Tom decided to complete their estate plan with Kerlin Walsh Law. They admitted they had been putting it off for years, assuming they had plenty of time.

A few months later, Tom was seriously injured in a cycling accident and temporarily unable to make financial and medical decisions. Because they had planned ahead, Michelle was able to access accounts, manage household finances, communicate with doctors, and make decisions according to Tom's wishes—without court involvement or unnecessary delays.

Tom made a full recovery and eventually resumed handling everything himself. Looking back, they were grateful they hadn't waited for the "right time." Their estate plan didn't just prepare them for the unexpected—it gave their family clarity, confidence, and peace of mind when they needed it most.
