Today and tomorrow, the Palm Springs Power wraps up their Memorial Day weekend series with live collegiate baseball in Greater Palm Springs. Great energy, easy atmosphere, warm nights.

Also today, downtown Palm Springs hosts the Marilyn 100 event at the Forever Marilyn statue on Palm Canyon Drive. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. and the Guinness World Record attempt for the largest gathering of Marilyn Monroe look-alikes happens at 4:30 p.m. Live music and DJ sets carry the evening.

And through Sunday, Heather James Fine Art in Palm Desert is showing two exhibitions worth catching before they close: La Belle Époque to the Gilded Age and Tom Wesselmann: Figure and Form. Both are outstanding.

The best way to track real estate values isn't the headline sale price — it's the price per square foot. Strip out the mix of big houses and small condos, and you get a cleaner picture.

April 2026: $393 per square foot across the Coachella Valley. Down from $406 in April 2025, a drop of about 3.2%. Values have pulled back from last year's levels, but April's number was up from $388 in March — a sign the softening may be leveling off.

Here's a number that tells you a lot about the market right now: 96.9%.

That's the sales price to list price ratio in April 2026 — essentially unchanged from 97.41% in April 2025. Sellers are still getting within 3% of their asking price on average. That's not a distressed market. That's a balanced one.

What it means practically: buyers have some negotiating room, but not a lot. Overpriced listings are sitting. Competitively priced homes are still generating solid offers.

There are 3,357 homes for sale in the Coachella Valley right now. A year ago, there were 4,104.

That's 747 fewer homes — an 18% drop in available inventory year over year. At the same time, buyers are closing at a higher rate than last April. The math is simple: fewer homes, more competition for the ones that are priced right.

The months supply of inventory sits at 4.83 — down from 6.3 months last April. That's the market tightening, not loosening.

If you've been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a buyer's market to fully arrive, this data says it hasn't.

May 30th marks what would have been Marilyn Monroe's 100th birthday. Festivities kick off at 3 p.m. at the iconic Forever Marilyn statue on Palm Canyon Drive. At 4:30 p.m., the city officially attempts to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of Marilyn Monroe look-alikes ever assembled.

Live band, DJ sets, food vendors, and a special guest performance round out the evening. All proceeds benefit Coachella Valley Pride programs.
