How does it work ? The Paris arrondissements.

Paris has a total of 20 arrondissements
that spiral clockwise like a snail shell.

The City is divided into the left bank and the right bank.
The right bank refers to the 14 northern arrondissements of the river Seine.

The left bank refers to the 6 southern arrondissements of the river Seine (5th, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 15th arrondissements). I live in the 14th

Right bank/Left bank ?? : Because if you allow the river to carry you with its current, the right bank will be to your right, and the left, to your left

In the late 18th c, Paris was organised into 12 arrondissements.
In 1860, Paris integrated parts of its suburbs adding 8 new arrondissements.
