The whole community mourns the victims of this horrific crash, and our hearts go out to the families of the victims.As I explained last night on WPBF, it takes time to investigate a motor vehicle crash to determine whether it resulted from reckless and wanton vehicle operation, including whether the accident was a result of intoxication, distraction from things like texting, or excessive speed. There could also be non-criminal causes of the accident, including mechanical failure. Law-enforcement should never rush to judgment. We all want justice for the families, which means a full and accurate investigation of the crash.

The State has returned an Indictment in this tragic case. The state is most certainly deciding whether to seek the death penalty. The defense is also certainly evaluating Mr. Williams mental health. I discuss these issues in the attached article.
