Social media has changed relationships more than people realize.

We now live in a world where everyone feels entitled to comment on someone else’s marriage, relationship, or personal life without knowing the full story.

But the reality is that every relationship has private conversations, boundaries, agreements, and struggles that do not belong to the internet.

Social media often shows the highlights, not the hard conversations, challenges, or real work happening behind closed doors. And constant comparison can quietly affect how people view themselves and their relationships.

The strongest relationships are usually the ones built privately through trust, communication, and mutual understanding, not public validation.

Most people spend more time planning the wedding than preparing for the marriage.

The reality is that many relationship issues start long before divorce is ever mentioned. They start with conversations that never happened in the first place.

Money.
Children.
Communication.
Career goals.
Family boundaries.

These topics may feel uncomfortable early on, but avoiding them usually creates bigger problems later.

Strong relationships are not built on avoiding difficult conversations. They are built on honesty, communication, and shared expectations.

Swipe through for the top 5 conversations every couple should have before marriage.

You really never know what you’re walking into with some divorce cases 😂

One of my first big financial cases involved tracing thousands of dollars being spent at a strip club every single week… while my client was trying to hide everything else. Absolute insanity.

These are the kinds of stories people never hear about what actually happens behind the scenes in family law.

I shared this (and a lot more) on 🎙️

It was an honor to attend the PBC FAWL Annual Installation Luncheon and witness the passing of the torch to a new Board of Directors.

As a Past President, this event always holds special meaning. It was wonderful to celebrate the accomplishments of Immediate Past President Lauren Johnson and hear an inspiring keynote from former County Attorney Denise Neiman, who shared powerful insights on pursuing personal goals with purpose and determination.

Congratulations to the incoming Board, and best wishes to Liz Herman as she begins her leadership journey. I look forward to seeing all that PBC FAWL will accomplish in the year ahead.

You would think the hardest part is dividing the big things… it’s not 😅
It’s the random stuff.

The “I want it because you want it” energy.

Like suddenly… a rocking chair becomes the most important thing in the world.
Not because of what it is…

but because neither person wants the other to have it.
And you’re sitting there like… we cannot be serious right now.

Because at that point, it is not about the item at all.
It is just about the fight.

“Felony” and “federal” are two words that send chills down my spine 😭👀

Talking all about the Lisa Hochstein situation on because this story just keeps getting crazier…

The hidden recording device.
The alleged conversations caught on tape.
The possibility of actual prison time.
And yes… the full glam mugshot 💀

But what REALLY got interesting was breaking down whether this could impact the custody battle and how family court judges may actually look at behavior like this 👀

Divorce is often misunderstood from the outside.

What looks simple is usually layered.
What looks logical is often emotional.

And the biggest shift is not just legal…
it is how you start thinking about what comes next.

There are cases where you just know… something is off 😅 This was a fun one to discuss with .pod .monica and

Like when someone says they have nothing…
but somehow there is a whole lot happening behind the scenes.

And it just keeps building.
More claims.
More moving pieces.
More… wait, what?

You’re sitting there like… we are really trying this right now?

But at a certain point, you cannot make something out of nothing.
The details start to matter.
And the story only holds if it actually makes sense.

This is something a lot of people don’t realize… Florida actually started recognizing this more clearly in the law.

Because there are situations where someone is completely cut off financially.

No access to accounts.
No ability to use money.
Everything controlled by the other person.

And before, it was harder to address unless you were already deep into a case.

Now, there are legal avenues where you can go to court and say…
This is not okay, I need access, I need support, I need relief.

Because it is not just about money.

It is about someone having the ability to control your day to day life
by turning things on and off.

And when you think about it like that…
that is a pretty serious level of control.

“What ends up happening is the divorce may end… but the fighting doesn’t.” 😭⚖️

2.5 years later and they were STILL litigating 👀

The motions. The court battles. The nonstop back-and-forth. Some cases truly become “the case that keeps on giving” 💀

Talking all about the longest divorce case I’ve ever dealt with on — and honestly some of these stories sound crazier than reality TV.
