💡 Veterans: Did You Know About TDIU? 🇺🇸

If you can’t work because of service-connected disabilities, you may qualify for Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability (TDIU) — even if your VA rating isn’t 100%!

✅ TDIU pays you at the 100% disability rate if your conditions prevent you from maintaining “substantially gainful employment.”
✅ You don’t need to be 100% rated — you just need to meet VA’s criteria.
✅ This can mean thousands more per month in benefits for you and your family.

If you think you qualify, send us a message and see if we can help.

What is Permanent and Total Rating?

The VA considers a disability to be permanent when the medical evidence shows that it is reasonable certain that the severity of the Veterans condition will continue for the remainder of the Veterans life.
The VA considers total to be a rating at 100% level of disability.

Gulf War Veterans’ Medically Unexplained Illnesses

A prominent condition affecting Gulf War Veterans is a cluster of medically unexplained chronic symptoms that can include fatigue, headaches, joint pain, indigestion, insomnia, dizziness, respiratory disorders, and memory problems.

VA refers to these illnesses as "chronic multisymptom illness" and "undiagnosed illnesses.

Veterans who served in the Gulf War may be entitled to benefits for these symptoms.

Veterans who served in the Gulf during Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or Operation New Dawn are eligible for the Gulf War Registry exam.

You do not need to be enrolled in VA health care to take part.

These exams are based on Veterans’ recollection of service, not on their military records.

This comprehensive health exam includes an exposure and medical history, laboratory tests, and a physical exam. A VA health professional will discuss the results face-to-face with the Veteran and in a follow-up letter.

When you file a claim for disability benefits, the VA will ask you for the following:

-Medical records and hospital records that relate to your claimed condition or that show your rated disability has gotten worse

-Private medical records and hospital reports that relate to your claimed condition or that show your disability has gotten worse

-Supporting statements from family, friends, coworkers, clergy, or law enforcement personnel with knowledge about how and when your disability happened or how it got worse

Between February to November 1991, Iraqi armed forces ignited oil well fires, producing dense clouds of soot, liquid, aerosols and gases.
Plumes of billowing smoke remained low to the ground, in some areas enveloping U.S. military personnel.
Exposures were highest during wintertime encampments in Saudi Arabia.
