Meet Our Team!

This month, our spotlight is on Commercial Real Estate Paralegal, Carrie Burnett.

Carrie joined Denton Law Firm at the end of summer in 2021 and has become as trusted part of our Title Department by our commercial clients.

One of Carrie's favorite parts of her job is building and growing relationships with small business owners throughout our community. She enjoys getting to know the people she works with and being a trusted resource as they navigate their commercial real estate needs.

When Carrie isn't working, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her children and grandchild, working on puzzles, and watching movies.

When asked how she would describe real estate, Carrie said it’s a fast-paced environment with unique challenges. Every transaction has its own moving parts, deadlines, personalities, and details to manage. In commercial real estate especially, no two deals are exactly alike, which keeps the work interesting and provides plenty of opportunities to learn, problem-solve, and help clients reach the finish line.

Carrie’s advice for anyone planning on investing in real estate in the future is to always invest in title insurance! It’s an important investment that can provide protection and peace of mind. When you have put all of your time, energy, money and dreams into building your business, you want to keep it safe. Title insurance is the best way to truly protect your real estate investment from unforeseen issues.

Congratulations Lisa on this huge milestone!!

For four decades, Lisa Emmons has been making her mark on the legal field and we think it’s safe to say that she has more than earned her office nickname, “Queen of Title”!

We’re so thankful for Lisa’s years of dedication, expertise, and the countless clients she has assisted along the way. Lisa is a wealth of real estate knowledge and we are all lucky to work along side of her.

What a great summer with our 2026 Summer Law Clerks!

We were fortunate to have Jordyn Naranjo, Caleb Madison, and Bryce Cunningham as part of the Denton Law Firm team this summer. Each of them brought enthusiasm, professionalism, and a willingness to learn, while making valuable contributions to our firm along the way.

We have truly enjoyed having them with us and hope their time at DLF provided meaningful experience as they continue their journey toward becoming attorneys.

We wish them all the best as they head back to law school, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for each of them!

We were proud to have several Denton Law Firm employees at the Realtor Association of Western Kentucky Golf Outing, benefiting CASA through this year's Fred Paxton Challenge for Charities.

Supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community is something we value deeply. Thank you to the Realtor Association of Western Kentucky for hosting another outstanding event, and to everyone who participated and helped raise funds for such an important cause.

We're honored to be a small part of an effort that helps CASA continue its vital work advocating for children in our community.

On Tuesday, Denton Law Firm was proud to co-sponsor Kentuckians for Better Transportation’s (KBT) Member Reception with BFW/Marcum. Transportation issues and projects are a team effort. And there is no better example than what happened the next day with the Paducah-McCracken County Riverport’s $24 Million dollar BUILD grant win for Riverport West. Denton Law is pleased to have played a small part in this win, but we are more pleased for our region and the Commonwealth as this is going to be a game changer! Congratulations to all!!

Congratulations to our Denton Law Firm Partners Alexander D. Blackwell and Jackie M. Matheny, Jr. who were honored as Dukes of Paducah. This recognition is a testament to their leadership, service, and commitment to our community.

We would also like to recognize our paralegal, Julie Almon, who serves on the Board of Trustees and worked diligently behind the scenes to help make the Duke & Duchess Launch Celebration a huge success.

We are honored to be part of a community filled with individuals who give their time and talents to make Paducah such a special place.

Congratulations to all those recognized and honored with the Duke and Duchess title this evening.
