Denton Law Firm was proud to participate in the Housing Authority of Paducah’s Annual Community Day this past Friday!

We had a wonderful time volunteering and as always, it’s a great opportunity to connect with local families, and give back to the community and kids.

A big thank you to the Housing Authority of Paducah for organizing such a meaningful event and allowing us to be a part of it.

It's a great day at Denton Law Firm!!! We are proud to announce and congratulate Kathan M. Watson and John W. McNeill III on passing the Kentucky Bar Exam!

We also want to congratulate Grace Denton on officially passing the Kentucky Bar Exam!!

This is an incredible accomplishment and the result of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We are excited that Kathan and John are a part of the Denton Law Firm team and look forward to watching them grow in their legal careers and serve our clients and community. Way to go gentlemen!

We are also so proud of Grace Denton, who is continuing a wonderful Denton family tradition in the legal profession. Grace is the daughter of Glenn and Heather Denton and granddaughter of David and Ann Denton. We are thrilled to celebrate this accomplishment with her and wish her the very best as she begins her legal career with Brackney Law Office, PLLC in Lexington, Kentucky.

We know Kathan, John, and Grace all have bright futures ahead and will do very well in the legal profession.

We are so proud to have Sonja on our team!!

Meet Our Team!

This spotlight is on Real Estate Paralegal, Sonja Skibinski.

Sonja first began working in the title department in 1997. After stepping away for a few years following the birth of her son, she returned to Denton Law Firm in December 2024 for Round Two, and we’re certainly glad to have her back!

When asked what her favorite part of the job is, Sonja’s said, "I love that I am blessed to work with a great bunch of people", and we all feel the same way about working with Sonja! Since Sonja is our title examiner, her second favorite part of her job is researching old records in courthouses throughout Western Kentucky. To her, real estate is more than just property. “Real estate is research. Real estate is history. It’s where people raise families, build businesses, and make memories.”

Outside of the office, Sonja enjoys being at home with her husband, Ray, and spending time with their adult children when they’re home. She also loves curling up on the couch with her mini dachshund, Lucy, a good book, and a cup of coffee.

Sonja's advice when it comes to buying real estate? “Buying real estate is like buying a car. You shouldn’t buy either one without getting them checked out first.”

We’re lucky to have Sonja on our team and we greatly appreciate the experience and knowledge she brings to our Title Department!

The City of Paducah Dept. of Community Development is having a Southside Fall Community Event this weekend on Saturday, October 3rd from 11 am to 3 pm at Coleman Park.

The event is free and open to the public and will include:
• 🍗 Free food
• 🎵 Music
• 🎲 Games and activities for kids
• 🐴 Pony rides
• 🎨 Face painting
• 🎃 Free pumpkins and pumpkin painting

Come on out and bring your family and friends for a fun day!

Mayor Kathy O'Nan is proud to announce the selection of Mayfield as the Kentucky League of Cities 2026 City Government of the Year. This honor was earned due to the dedication of our outstanding, hard-working City employees and City Council members and the herculean efforts they put forth in helping rebuild our town after the December 2021 tornado. We are so proud to have Macy on our team!

Meet Our Team!

This spotlight is on Residential Real Estate Legal Assistant, Macy Gruber.

Macy joined Denton Law Firm in July of 2024, and has quickly become a valued part of our team. She began by assisting the Real Estate Department with our order opening and processing, and her role quickly expanded to include running title exams.

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Macy said, “No two files are alike. Each comes with its own unique challenges and obstacles that keep me on my toes, encourage me to think critically, and motivate me to continue growing and improving in my role."

Outside of the office, Macy enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, traveling to New York City, going to the movies, and writing.

When it comes to real estate, Macy knows there’s much more to a transaction than buying and selling property. She says that it's about helping people achieve their goals and build their futures. Every property has a history, every transaction tells a story, and every closing brings new opportunities.

Her advice to buyers? Never judge a property by its curb appeal! What’s hiding in the title might surprise you. ALWAYS get a title examination, and in Macy’s opinion, title insurance is a must. After all, the only thing you should inherit with your new property is the deed, not someone else’s problems!
