The Bryant Law Center is proud to partner with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and the American Red Cross for the 3rd Annual Downtown Paducah Employees Blood Drive!

The blood drive will be held on Friday, November 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Public Safety Room at the corner of 6th Street and Adams Street in downtown Paducah.

One blood donation can help two or more patients in need, since each donation of whole blood can be separated into more than one blood product, which includes red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. According to the American Red Cross, blood donations are extremely significant for cancer patients, in particular, since more than a quarter of the U.S. blood supply is used by patients battling cancer. Blood cells that are made in the bone marrow are often at risk for those affected by cancer. This lack of blood cell production can cause chronic diseases over time which may affect organs such as the kidneys, spleen, and liver. Blood transfusions, made possible through blood donations, can act as a resource to implement platelets back into the body after heavy treatments such as chemo or radiation therapy.

Please schedule a blood donation time to help things run more smoothly the day of the blood drive. To reserve your time, simply download the Red Cross donor app and use Sponsor Code: downtown

You can also use the same Sponsor Code at the following link: https://link.edgepilot.com/x/JaDYAUyl2iiYasqw8-sCgjU?u=http://www.redcrossblood.org/

❗️Every donor who provides their email address through the scheduling process will receive a $10 Amazon gift card, as well as 500 bonus points that are redeemable for a $10 e-gift-card through Blood Donor Rewards. Successful donors also receive free A1C testing, courtesy of the American Red Cross❗️

Please consider taking the time on November 6 to donate blood—a simple act that can be absolutely vital to someone facing an emergency, surgery, cancer treatment, or another serious health challenge.

The Bryant Law Center looks forward to greeting you at the blood drive!

Congratulations to the Bryant Law Center’s own Michael Whitaker on his induction into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame!

Mike was honored this past Thursday, September 24, during the induction ceremony at Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri.

Throughout Mike’s career in the bass fishing industry, his vision, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit helped transform competitive bass fishing by making professionally-run tournaments accessible to everyday anglers.

As the founder of Operation Bass in 1979, Mike created opportunities for working-class fishermen to compete at a high level without the financial barriers often associated with professional fishing. His groundbreaking work with the Red Man Tournament Trail helped expand the sport’s reach, attract major sponsorships, and pave the way for the modern tournament-fishing industry.

Mike’s impact on the sport is evident throughout bass fishing competitions in the present day, and his induction is a well-deserved recognition of a remarkable legacy.

Please join us in congratulating Mike on this extraordinary accomplishment!

Congratulations to Kelsey Kennady, Champion of the 2026 Dancing with our Stars, held on Saturday, September 19 at the Paducah Convention Center!

The Bryant Law Center was proud to serve as a Gold Sponsor in support of Kelsey, who is the sister-in-law of Bryant Law Center attorney Austin Kennady. Bryant Law Center attorney Emily Roark also participated as one of the event’s esteemed judges.

Dancing with our Stars was a celebratory evening of community fellowship and fundraising for the American Cancer Society. In the months prior to the event, ten community leaders raised thousands of dollars in funding for the American Cancer Society, as part of the competition. Each Star was also paired with a dance instructor to rehearse a choreographed routine before taking the stage in the fight against cancer.

Join us in celebrating Kelsey Kennady’s outstanding accomplishment!

Yesterday, Bryant Law Center attorneys Emily Roark and Tyler Brown joined WPSD-TV’s Legal Line to discuss serious and timely issues related to criminal law, including how teenagers’ use of artificial intelligence can result in real legal consequences.

The conversation addressed situations where students use AI to create or share fake explicit images of classmates, school shooting or bomb threats, or other harmful content online. The key takeaway was clear: the inauthenticity of a threat or a doctored image does not necessarily make the legal problem go away.

Under Kentucky law, certain computer-generated sexual images involving minors may fall under serious criminal statutes, including laws addressing possession, viewing, and distribution of material portraying sexual performances by minors.

The discussion also addressed AI-generated threats involving schools. A fake image, voice recording, message, or deepfake video can still trigger lockdowns, evacuations, and law enforcement responses. Kentucky’s terroristic-threatening laws take threats involving schools and weapons of mass destruction seriously, even when a student later claims there was no intent to carry them out.

Additionally, the act of forwarding harmful content can also create legal risk. A student may not have created the image or threat, but hitting “send” can still matter depending on the content, knowledge, intent, and circumstances.

Parents should talk with their children now about the risks of using AI to create or share sexual images, threats, or harmful fake content. If a student receives an explicit image of another minor or a threat involving a school, the safest response is not to forward it to friends. Instead, involve a parent, school official, or law enforcement.

Please contact the Bryant Law Center at (270) 442-1422 if you have any further questions regarding this matter.

During the visit, Mark sat down for an interview with a PTHS Media Arts student, as part of the Tornado Talk podcast, in order to discuss his experience in the legal profession and share insights from his career. He also spoke with students about the significance of journalism in today’s society, drawing on his professional relationships with journalists from Dateline NBC and with Larry King of Larry King Live.

Thank you to Mike Spissinger and the talented PTHS Media Arts students for the warm welcome! The Bryant Law Center is proud to support students exploring media, journalism, and the role of storytelling in our local communities.
