AI Wrongful Death Lawsuit Settlement:
AI Chatbots have been known to hallucinate and to reply to users in a way that promotes harm. In this case, a 14-year-old user of Character.ai killed himself, and messages between him as the chat bot revealed responses that supported the idea the child should kill himself. A lawsuit was filed by his mother and the case was settled last week.
AI Chatbots are a new invention that are not fully understood. While attempts have been made to make Chatbots after for users, there are still a lot of potential dangers that can be associated with their use.
