It is always sad to see an old tree fall, but what is worse is to see the beauty of that tree gone to waste. This old black walnut would have been cut down and burned to clear space for farmland so it was coming down no matter what. Jake and Red swooped in to help this tree's natural beauty see another day rather than be burned to ash. We can work around the minimal rot and ant damage you see here. Once dry, the possibilities to showcase one of nature's prized species are endless!

Caring for our product does not end with the cut. Each slab, immediately after cutting, is dusted clean. Leaving wet sawdust on the wood can create mold growth during the drying process and ruin the end result. We take great pride in the quality of what we do and you can be sure that each slab is properly cared for from log to you.

What is on the ends of the slabs?

Once a log has been cut it needs time to dry. The ends of the slabs dry faster then the middle and this makes them prone to cracking if not properly cared for. To prevent this, we use a sealant to keep each slab in good condition while the moisture is naturally released.
