WHAT YOU'LL DO
Complex Case & Trial Management
▸ Manage dockets across divorce, custody, modifications, enforcement, grandparent rights, QDROs, and guardianship.
▸ Lead litigation strategy from intake through final orders, including contested evidentiary hearings and multi-day trials.
▸ Handle emergency motions (ex parte custody, protective orders, contempt) with rapid, legally sound filings.
▸ Prepare and argue dispositive motions, temporary orders, and post-trial remedies.
Client Counseling & Retention
▸ Lead in-depth strategy sessions and provide clear, outcome-oriented guidance.
▸ Navigate sensitive, high-conflict dynamics while maintaining professional boundaries and client control.
▸ Translate legal complexity into actionable advice that builds trust and manages expectations.
Courtroom & Mediation Representation
▸ Represent clients at hearings, trials, mediations, and pre-trial conferences in both Kansas and Missouri.
▸ Cross-examine witnesses, prepare expert testimony, and build compelling evidentiary presentations.
▸ Advocate before judges, mediators, GALs, and parenting coordinators.
Advanced Drafting & Procedural Work
▸ Draft complex pleadings, property division analyses, and proposed parenting plans.
▸ Review and elevate paralegal work product for accuracy and strategic positioning.
▸ Prepare appellate briefs, motions to set aside, and sanction responses as needed.
▸ Apply local rules and administrative orders with precision; leverage CLIO for case, billing, and document management.
WHAT YOU BRING
▸ Experience: 4+ years of family law practice — confident managing a caseload independently.
▸ Credentials: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admitted to the Kansas and Missouri Bars (or MO-eligible via UBE).
▸ Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation; sharp, detail-oriented analysis.
▸ Mindset: Client-focused and empathy-driven, with the grit to thrive in high-conflict litigation.
▸ Spirit: A self-starter and team player ready to join company events, retreats, and team-building.
