We have seen more extreme weather conditions including flash floods, lightning strikes, really hot or really cold temperatures, high winds and more in the past couple of years. One of the natural disasters to make sure you are prepared for, especially in the Kansas City Metro, is a tornado. We thought this would also be timely for all the fans of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ coming to town between June 11th and July 19th. We continue to hear stories about check washing scams causing major headaches. This scam happens to businesses more than you might realize, but it can also happen to you personally. And we have simple solutions to protect against both that we share in our newest blog post!

If you don’t know what a check washing scam is, paper checks are stolen from the mail and then the checks are washed in chemicals to remove the ink. Once the check has been cleaned, the scammer writes in a new payee name and dollar amount. Then they fraudulently deposit or cash the check. Crazy, right?
