🍰 Four Desserts, Good Neighbors & One Very Difficult Game

Our neighbors invited us over for dinner recently, and I volunteered to bring dessert.

Apparently, Christy Wonka was alive and well in my kitchen. 🍭😂

(For those who haven't seen it, one of my friends actually turned me into “Christy Wonka.” And honestly... I think he may have a point.)

After dinner, we played 25 Words or Less.

Now, anyone who knows me knows that 25 words or less is a serious struggle for me.

I have thoughts.

Lots of them.

And apparently they don't like being compressed into 25 words. 😂

And here's the best part:

These are the neighbors who gave me the game for Christmas!

So there I was, sitting at their dinner table, playing the game they gave me and once again proving that apparently 25 words is not enough.

But honestly?

That's what I loved about the evening.

Good food.
Lots of laughter.
A ridiculous amount of dessert.
A game I'm not particularly good at.
And neighbors who have become friends.

And THAT is one of the things I love about home.

We talk about real estate in terms of bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, location, price and amenities.

But some of the best parts of home don't show up in an MLS listing.

It's the people next door.

It's the spontaneous dinner invitations.

The neighbors who become friends.

The laughter around the table.

The memories you make.

The people who know you well enough to give you 25 Words or Less for Christmas. 😂

A house is the property. Home is what happens there. ❤️

And if you want the recipes for the four desserts I apparently couldn't choose between, they're on the blog.

Because apparently one dessert was never going to happen.
