The data is clear and uncomfortable.

The biggest barrier to women’s advancement isn’t confidence.

It’s the first promotion.

When women get stuck at the manager level, the leadership pipeline breaks long before the C-suite ever comes into view. And no amount of “just work harder” advice fixes that.

This is why leadership development must start early and be intentional.

Confidence matters.

But so does visibility.

So does sponsorship.

So does executive presence.

Talent alone doesn’t move systems.

Strategy does.

If women aren’t equipped to be seen, heard, and positioned early, the gap only widens with time.
