Our Story
Judge Weiss is a graduate of the Delaware Law School of Widener University where he served on the school’s law review, received Book Awards, and clerked at the Supreme Court of Delaware. He spent his last year of law school at the University of Florida College of Law, where he previously received a B.A. in History and Religion.
A few years after graduating law school and practicing as an associate at a local law firm, Judge Weiss formed Weiss Legal Group, P.A. His firm grew to over 15 employees and focused on first party insurance claims, personal injury, family law, corporate and business law, collections, and appeals. During his 18 years of practice as a civil trial lawyer, Judge Weiss was involved with the legal community by serving on the 9th Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, speaking at continuing legal education seminars, and implementing legal aid opportunities at community centers, synagogues and churches. Judge Weiss was Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rated, and was awarded other honors such as Top Lawyer by Orlando Home and Leisure Magazine, Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine, Florida Super Lawyers and Best of the Bar by the Orlando Business Journal. Judge Weiss was involved in many local philanthropies, including serving as President of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Orlando.
Judge Weiss was elected as a Circuit Court Judge in 2014 and currently serves the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orange County in the Circuit Civil Division. He previously served for three years in Osceola County handling civil, probate, guardianship, mental health, first appearances, and appeals. Judge Weiss was also instrumental in the drafting of the administrative order regulating county to circuit appeals. Judge Weiss has served as the Associate Administrative Judge for the Civil Division and currently serves as the Administrative Judge for the Appellate Division. Judge Weiss regularly presents legal education seminars and is involved in the George C. Young Inns of Court.
Judge Weiss is married with three children and resides in Winter Park.
