To all applicants looking to do their documentation through the mail...do not do your application by hand. There is a reason the State Department does not allow us to submit hand written applications. The major reason being that handwritten applications take longer to enter into their system. You are adding more time to the process by doing the application by hand. Go to travel.state.gov, fill out the form online and you are ensuring yourself that they will put your documentation into their systems quicker than if you did it by hand.

Before you purchase that ticket be sure your passport is valid for your trip. Remember, some countries require your passport to be valid for more than 90 days or even 6 months for you to enter.

At the present time the State Department's EXPEDITED processing is taking 4-6 weeks. Given the U.S. Government's steps detailed in this article and the fact that case numbers are going up worldwide we do expect the process to slow down to the full 6 weeks or maybe even longer. We do expect them to be closer to 6 weeks until the covid numbers go down. We say this because this has been the State Department's trend regarding increased cases since we restarted processing in September of last year.

The State Department said more than 80% of countries around the world will soon carry its "do not travel'' level. Fewer than 20% carry that label now.
