Familias de OCPS, después de monitorear de cerca el huracán Dorian y en coordinación con los funcionarios estatales y locales con respecto a los refugios, todas las escuelas y lugares de trabajo de OCPS estarán cerrados el martes 3 de septiembre después del feriado del Día del Trabajo. Determinaremos cualquier cierre más allá del martes en un momento posterior. También, un recordatorio de que todas las actividades del campus escolar, incluidas las actividades no estudiantiles, que se realizan los sábados, domingos y lunes también se cancelan. OCPS families, After closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian and in coordination with state and local officials regarding shelters, all OCPS schools and work locations will be closed on Tuesday, September 3 after the Labor Day holiday. We will determine any closures beyond Tuesday at a later time. Also, a reminder that all school campus activities, including non-student activities, occurring on Saturday, Sunday and Monday are also canceled. OCPS is continuing to work closely with the National Weather Service to monitor the storm.

Important dates:

Schools closed Tuesday, September 3
Pre-determined make-up day Friday, October 18.
Throughout the storm the district will send messages to OCPS families by phone, as well as post updates on www.ocps.net and our district Facebook and Twitter pages regarding school operations. We will also keep you apprised of any plans regarding schools being used as shelters. A partir de ayer, miércoles 28 de agosto de 2019, el gobernador DeSantis ha declarado un estado de emergencia para todo el estado de Florida. Dorian sigue siendo un huracán de categoría 1 ubicado a 370 millas al este del sureste de Bahamas. Se prevé que se convierta en un huracán importante para el sábado 31 de agosto. Ahora se pronostica que Dorian se convertirá en un huracán de categoría 4 por tierra. As of yesterday, Wednesday August 28th, 2019, Gov. DeSantis has declared a state of emergency for the entire state of Florida. Dorian remains a Category 1 hurricane located 370 miles east of the southeastern Bahamas. It is projected to become a major hurricane by Saturday August 31st. Dorian is now forecast to become a Category 4 hurricane by landfall. Current projections show Dorian reaching the FL coastline around 8:00 AM on Monday September 1st, and into Central FL mainland by 8:00 AM Tuesday September 2nd. Please be advised that these projections are subject to change over the next few days and we will send out notices accordingly.
