When this client explained that her son was in her care for nearly two years after being placed at birth by an adoption entity and the termination of parental rights order had still not been secured, I was certain that I misunderstood her. I had never heard of such a delay in permanency in a private adoption. When I explained that most of my clients have already finalized their Adoption by 90 days, she was floored. We were happy to immediately step in and get this wonderful family to the finish line.

Do you know that compliance with the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children is required anytime a child crosses state lines for the purposes of Adoption? Non-compliance can severely jeopardize your Adoption. Call us to help with your interstate placement.

Today was the best Court day! I got to finalize the adoption of a third FULL sibling and the first brother for these gorgeous sisters 💕When we say it takes a village, this family represents what I mean. And Judge Beamer was the best! She even let the girls try on her robe and sit in her chair!

A lot of people think their adoption would qualify as a relative adoption if they are adopting a blood relative. In Florida, the adoption would only be considered a relative adoption if the child was related in the third degree of consanguinity. This would include a grandparent adoption or adoption of a niece or nephew or sibling, but this would not include an adoption of a cousin or a great niece or nephew. Congrats to the C family!
