**UPDATE**

Earlier we posted how our client was unlawfully arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Our client was arrested out of county and was held until he was transferred to the county that had filed the warrant, but thankfully the Judge agreed with us that there was no probable cause for the arrest (even though she signed the original warrant) and she released him without need for bail.

We were able to speak to the prosecutor (the one who reviewed the original warrant before sending it to the Judge) and pointed out this glaring mistake. Shortly after that conversation, this No Bill was filed and the case is now closed. Glad we were able to get the State Attorney’s office to realize what a grave mistake this was.

Our client was arrested for a Polk County warrant while he was in Hillsborough County for a charge of possession of firearm by convicted felon. In law enforcements investigation, they claimed he was convicted back from a 2005 felony case.

Well guess what? He actually IS NOT a convicted felon, and today we were successfully able to argue for his ROR at first appearances (only after he was arrested on 3/9 and then transferred to Polk for first appearance today). He will be released today and we can fight this baseless charge while he’s on the outside.

Client arrested on a no bond warrant that was issued 5 years ago over a miscommunication issue. Today at initial appearances we were able to argue for bond and it was GRANTED! Now they can bond out and we can work on their case together while out of custody.
