I am so proud to serve as the President of Catholic Lawyers Guild of Central Florida. Our main project each year is the Red Mass where we continue a tradition which has been celebrated across the world since the year 1245. We come together as community to pray for all lawyers, judges, and public servants. This year our St. Thomas More award winner was Elizabeth "Betty" Cangelose Wheeler, and our St. Martin de Porres award winner was Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. We were honored to have Florida Supreme Court Justice John Couriel as our luncheon speaker. Extend the Wave comes to Orlando!

I am so proud to help with the inaugural the Wave event in Orlando where we are bringing smiles to children and their families at . My good friend stevens started this non-profit to bring joy and spread the to Orlando. We've been giving goodies to the children all week which will culminate in a 's tailgate lunch at the hospital tomorrow. This fan will gladly cheer on the Iowa Hawkeye team and fans as they stop their last home game at the end of the 1st quarter so all 70,000 fans can turn around and to the children in the hospital overlooking their stadium. As airs the game, we expect they will do a shoutout to the kids in Orlando!

Yesterday I helped serve hot meals to the homeless at The Daily Bread with my fellow Christian Legal Society members. The Daily Bread is an amazing organization serving so many in our community. I'm grateful to be able to help in a small way.

This is an excellent article for all law firms, and especially for sole practitioners and small firms which have opened within the last 10-15 years. We are all lawyers, and most of us love helping others. However, we must take care of our firms, so we can continue to take care of our clients. We are running businesses, and businesses tradionally experience feast and famine. This article has some practical advice on how to prepare your law firm for the looming recession.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: On Friday, I heard on the radio that Apple had a major security breach which could allow potential hackers to take over complete control of Apple devices. On Sunday, I heard it again on Tech Talk, so I reached out to family and friends to make sure they knew about the breach. Much to my surprise, no one I contacted had any idea this had occurred! Apparently, most Apple devices are affected.

Apple has released security patches, so update your software iOS and Mac devices ASAP if you haven't already! How many people Bank on their Apple devices, use apple pay, Etc? Now more than ever I urge you to keep track of your finances and watch where your money is going!

The US government urged iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to download an emergency security fix as soon as possible.

I attended the Florida Christian Attorneys meeting at the Florida Bar Convention where my FSU Law classmate, Florida Supreme Court Justice Alan Lawson received the 2022 Laura Mall Justice Award. He spoke about “Living a Life of Hope in the Practice of Law.” Pictured are Florida Supreme Court Justice Jamie Grosshans, her husband, Josh Grosshans who is the Immediate Past President of the Christian Legal Society, Orlando Chapter, prominent Personal Injury Attorney John Edward Jones, and me.
