My story.
As a lawyer, I cannot promise or guarantee success in any legal endeavor. But, what I can promise is that I will do my absolute best to find a winning argument for you. And, I will feverishly advocate for you. I can also promise you that I will be honest about your case; about my opinion on your chances of success, the value of your damages or claims, and whether it makes sense for you to pay me, or anyone, to pursue them. I'm not out to take anyone to the bank, or to make a buck. I want to practice law differently.
I believe that having a career should complement my personal life, not rule it. I believe that everyone with a meritorious claim should have access to cost-effective and competent legal advocates. I believe that a high quality of life breeds success in all endeavors. I believe that I can learn just as much from my clients as they can from me.
Most of my practice is devoted to ERISA and labor and employment issues. I'm good at it, the law geek in me loves this work, and, at the end of the day, I like fighting the good fight for the little guy.
I am admitted to practice before all New York State courts (2004), the federal court for the Western District of New York (2005), the Second Circuit Court of Appeals (2005), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (2014).
I received my law degree from UB Law (2003), where I earned special recognition for my appellate advocacy skills, and my bachelor of arts degree, magna cm laude, from SUNY College at Buffalo (2000), where I earned special honors for excellence in philosophy.
When I am not seeking justice, you might find me indulging on oysters and wine at any number of local restaurants, or walking about town with my boys hunting for zombies.
