You’re not crazy, insensitive, or bipolar. Gaslighters regularly “diagnose” their victims with mental illness (you’re crazy or bipolar) in an attempt to pathologize and undermine them. It’s all part of an abuser’s narrative. You hear what they say to you - can you imagine what they’re saying about you to others? This is done so that they are able to portray themselves as the victim, claiming you’re the crazy/bipolar/unstable one.
Another staple in the gaslighter’s repertoire is claiming that their victim is overreacting or oversensitive. Whether or not you are sensitive or not is irrelevant when it comes to psychological abuse.
Getting space from your abuser is essential. Recovery is important to achieve mental clarity.
There is no stigma in getting out and getting help. The most honest and intelligent people seek therapy.
