Dane Ostrander and Breanna Deuel have come together to continue with the representation of injured workers in Washington State. They bring over 30 years of experience in litigating cases and helping injured workers in workers' compensation cases.

Dane Ostrander has practiced industrial insurance law since 2000 and has been a partner in the firm of Williams, Wyckoff & Ostrander, PLLC, since 2005. Breanna Deuel joined the firm as an associate in 2020 and is now partnering with Dane Ostrander to continue this exciting practice.

This is a win for injured workers!!!🎉

🎥 House Bill 1068 was passed this session and will be in effect on July 23, 2023. This means that injured workers can now record compelled medical examinations required by the Department of Labor and Industries.

There are requirements for this, so be sure to swipe to see some of them on page two!

It’s so important to ask the right questions from the beginning of your claim. Most, if not all, of these questions have to be asked consistently throughout the life of your claim.

Washington State is only one of two states that doesn't allow recording state-mandated medical exams for injured workers.

Throughout your claim, you likely will attend at least one state-paid Independent Medical Exam (IME) ordered by the Department. These exams do not feel so "independent" and there is currently nothing in place for an injured worker to record this exam that ends up deciding a lot about their cases, in typically a negative way, even when an injured workers' own medical providers are stating a completely different opinion than the IMEs.

We urge you to take the time to read the below article and/or watch the video about the current bill at the Senate to help make this system a little more fair for injured workers and to hold these "independent" doctors more accountable for their exams.
