We’re excited to celebrate an incredible milestone for Aidan Welsh.

On June 3, 2026, Aidan will officially be sworn in as Chair of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a tremendous honor recognizing her leadership and contributions to the family law community.

Later this month, she will also serve as Co-Chair of the AAML National Family Law Conference and moderate a panel on military law, Uniform Family Interstate Support Act, and Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.

We’re proud to see Aidan continuing to shape important conversations within the profession on both the state and national levels.

Congratulations to Bree Wilkes on graduating from the University of Connecticut School of Law!

Bree's journey with Schoonmaker George began back in 2014, her sophomore year of high school, and she has been part of our family nearly every summer since. Watching her grow from a high school student into the talented attorney she is becoming has been an absolute privilege.

Bree is graduating with the honor of receiving The Honorable Herbert Barall Family Law Award, a recognition reserved for one student who has excelled academically in family law AND demonstrated a commitment to serving others through work addressing domestic violence, the impact of divorce on families and children, and access to justice.

Since opening our doors in Greenwich, Connecticut, our firm has grown from a vision shared by Samuel V. Schoonmaker, III, and Cynthia Coulter George into a team of dedicated attorneys and professionals committed to guiding clients through some of life’s most complex moments.

Over the past three decades, we’ve celebrated many milestones together, welcoming new attorneys, expanding our team, opening new offices, and continuing to deepen our expertise in family law.
